Daniell; Henshawe's Kings Cup Air race; the Coronation Express 125 mph run for L.N.E.R.; K. Bills wins Donnington Senior Grand Prix for Norton; George Eyson's Land Speed record of 375 mph, and Malcolm Campbell's Bluebird boat speed record. Basically an advertising publication for Castrol Motor Oils, with terrific photographs. A nice piece of 1930's ephemera. Thirty-two illustrations. Pictorial matt-card covers. Stamp of a Belfast motor and cycle trader on the front cover, and staples rusty, otherwise very good. 45.00

London: Gale & Polden Second Edition revised and enlarged 1912. 18 by 12.5 cms. xiv+86 pp. illustrated from photographs. card covers. For use in elementary and secondary schools, evening continuation schools, gymnastic classes, Boys Brigades, etc. Photos include the festival of Empire national Physical Display at Crystal Palace July 1st 1911. The covers show a little wear and dustiness otherwise very good. Physical exercises for young people using wands. Fairly scarce. 40.00

Much of the title page is occupied with an inscription from the author, autographed and dated 25th Dec. 1996. One of the great footballers of our time he played for Northern Ireland, Distillery, Portsmouth, Villa, Leicester, Wolves. 45.00

London: Flicker Productions Ltd. 113b Earls Court Road. no date. c.1920's. 7.5 by 5 cms. no pagination, c. 50pp. double sided photographs of Bobby More's Golf swings which when flicked show the movement. A similar principle was used in very early cinematography. Red brown covers, stapled together. Condition is good a little wear and rubbing to covers and edges, and the staple is rusty but tight, no discolouration, spine missing. There are 20 titles listed on the final page, on golf, tennis, cricket, lacrosse, swimming hockey, greyhound racing, etc.Copyright was reserved by Harrods which perhaps suggests an expensive item to start with. Frequent usage, especially outdoors would not enhance their chances of survival. This one is in good albeit used condition 200.00

One chapter on the 1904 Gordon-Bennett race, another on the Kadir Cup, Sport in Manchuria, Sport in Southern Patagonia, as well as less exotic items covering hunting, fishing, golf racing, rowing etc. Original art nouveau yellow and black boards, spine faded and restored, internally grubby in places, one page tear repaired.
