Extensively illustrated, with 13 full-page illustrations, and 52 woodcuts in the text. Pictorial front board and spine. Signature on back of ffep. Minor spotting to half-title. Otherwise in good condition. £20.00


10053. Flicker Productions Ltd.: Golf Bobby Jones "Flicker" No 11c Out the Rough and Putt.

London: Flicker Productions Ltd. 113b Earls Court Road. no date. c.1920's. 7.5 by 5 cms. no pagination, c. 50pp. double sided photographs of Bobby More's Golf swings which when flicked show the movement. A similar principle was used in very early cinematography. Red brown covers, stapled together. Condition is very good, a little wear to covers, and the staple is rusty but tight, no discolouration. There are 20 titles listed on the final page, on golf, tennis, cricket, lacrosse, swimming hockey, greyhound racing, etc.Copywright was reserved by Harrods which perhaps suggests an expensive item to start with. Frequent usage, especially outdoors would not enhance their chances of survival. This one is in very good condition £220.00

London: Rogerson & Tuxford 1862. 18 by 12 cms. vii+426+11+10 pp. illustrated with 16 engravings. Contents include, Turf Worthies, Exmoor to Wit, Turf Cracks, Stag, Drag and Flag, and Horn and Hound. In worn, rubbed red boards, with spine relauid, internally clean and tight. scarcer than some of the other titles. £50.00


5984. Watson, Alfred E. T. editor: The Badminton Magazine of Sports and Pastimes Vol XIX July to September 1904.

London: the Sphere and Tatler 1904. viii+700 pp. illustrated throughout with photographs, two colour illustrations. One chapter on the 1904 Gordon-Bennett race, another on the Kadir Cup, Sport in Manchuria, Sport in Southern Patagonia, as well as less exotic items covering hunting, fishing, golf racing, rowing etc. Original art nouveau yellow and black boards, spine faded and restored, internally grubby in places, one page tear repaired. A fair copy. £45.00
