Prayer Books10051. : The Book of Common Prayer and Administration of The Sacraments according to the use of the United Church of England and Ireland together with the Psalter. London: G. E. Eyre and W. Spottiswoode, 1853. 9.5 x 6 cm. No pagination. Bound in boards covered in dark purple velvet with brass edges, brass clasp, and a beautifully chased, raised, brass monogram on the front board, (sometimes referred to as a convent binding), a.e.g. in a contemporary slipcase which may be snakeskin, with a small stamped name on slipcase bottom rear, Mrs Vinycomb. There is a beautifully written dedication on the ffep in red and black ink with decorations, in very small writing "Mrs Vinycomb Belfast from R. Sh . T. Sept 1862" (the last two initials may be incorrect - they are difficult to be sure about), minor wear from use, otherwise in very good condition. Edinburgh: 1815. 18 by 11 cm. 600 pp. in original calf boards. General condition is good apart from a page with the top half inch removed without loss of text. Convent binding with decorated brass hinges and catches and ivory straps. The front ivory board has a diagonal row of gilded incised flowers. The end papers have a patterned, textured silk effect and all edges are gilt. Ecce Homo! frontispiece. Very good condition. £35.004623. London: Batsford 1982. 124 pp. good in a price clipped dustwrapper. An anthology of poetry about Our Lady with appropriate illustrations. With a foreword by the late Cardinal Basil Hume. £6.005088. Eastbourne: Society for Distributing Scripture Truth 1865. 21 by 13.5 cms. 67 pp. hymns without music. Text in large heavy black type, good for those with weak eyesight. Stiff card covers, a little faded. Overall in very good condition.
