7952. Duke, Geoff: In Pursuit of Perfection.

London: Osprey Publishing, 1988. 192 pp. 27.5 x 20.5 cm. Profusely illustrated in b&w. Autograph inscription on the title page reads "To Ken with best wishes, Geoff Duke". In the 1950s Geoff Duke was the greatest among equals in the world of motorcycle racing, riding to six world championship victories. In his own words Duke tells the enthralling story of the machines, the teams and the triumphs. Silver-blocked black boards. Dw has had 6-cm tear neatly repaired with peelable tape, but still a great memento of a great man. £45.00

Suffolk: 1982-1995. 21 by 15 cms. TWO SETS - no.1: A run of 48 issues, plus one duplicate, from Vol 1 No 1 Spring 1982 to Vol 10 number 6 Dec. 1991. All in very good, mint condition. Vol 1 no 1- 4, Vol 2 no 1-4, Vol 3 no. 1-4 ( these 11 early issues are reprints) then originals, vol 3 no. 4. vol 4 to vol 10 are complete runs, four issues a year to vol 6, then six issues annually thereafter. I duplicate issue vol 7 no 2. It changed its name from the magazine of the E.A.C.C. to that of the N.A.C.C. during publication. All contained in a black, unlabelled Archive box. SET 2: A run of 24 issues, plus one duplicate, from Vol 11 No 1 Feb. 1992 to Vol 14 number 6 Dec. 1995. All in very good, mint condition. Vol 11, nos 1-6, Vol 12 nos 1-6, Vol 13 nos 1-6, Vol 14 nos 1-6, a duplicate of vol 13 no 3. All contained in a maroon, unlabelled Archive box. Plus a couple of inserts from Les Amis du Velosolex. These two sets give a near mint collection of the first 72 issues covering 13 years. £150.00

7947. McCleery, W. F.: Stanley Woods A Short Biography.

Belfast: Ulster Folk and Transport Museum 1987. 15 by 21 cms. n.p. c. 36 pp. illustrated.Born in Dublin, Woods career in motor cycle racing was concentrated from 1920-1939. Between 1925-33 he was connected with Norton. This booklet has become quite scarce. £23.00

Belfast: Blackstaff Press 1979. 150 pp. 24 by 18 cm. Profusely illustrated An in depth account of this nostalgic motorcycling race from its start in 1922. Contents good, in worn glazed pictorial covers. Various photographs are autographed by riders, with two autographs - one of which is PW Miller ? - on the halftitle. Page 63 "To Ken/Best wishes/Geoff Duke". Page 79 "To Ken/Best Wishes/Sammy Miller." Page 87 "John Surtees". £45.00
