Tours: Alfred Mame et Fils, 1893 Entirement refondus d'apres les editions les plus recentes du Breviare et du Missal romains. 736 pp. 12 x 8 cm. Three engraved plates, black boards with worn gilt spine titling. Aeg. On the front pastedown is attatched a card, "Alexandre de Stoeckl Chamberlain de S. M. l'Empereur de Russie". From the library of the novelist Agnes de Stoeckl. Agnes de Stoeckl was born in Paris 1874, and married Sasha Baron de Stoeckl in 1892. His father was the diplomat who negotiated the sale of Alaska. Sasha became Equerry to Grand Duke Michael of Russia, and Agnes came to spend much time with the Russian Imperial family. Hers was a remarkable twentieth century life - a world turned upside down by war and revolution. 50.00

Oxford: Printed at the University Press, 1859. 18 x11 cms. No pagination. Each section with its own title page. Bound in boards covered in textured leather, with brass edges, six panelled spine with raised bands and gilt title, a.e.g. a little scuffing to spine, some light marks to front board. Internally tight, some minor wear to first title page and endpaper, otherwise clean and unmarked. There is, on the front pastedown, a bookplate with the arms and crest for Hogg, motto Dat Gloria Vires. In good condition. A nice period piece. 45.00
