This is a sumptiously produced book, in very good condition, and is a copy of the memoranda and diary of John Macky, Inspector of Waterkeepers on the Bann, from 1791 to 1809. 25.00

17366. Wilkinson, S. B.: Reminiscences of Sport in Ireland.

Salisbury: The Signet Press, 1987. New edition. xxvi+236 pp. 19 x 13 cm. This edition is limited to 1000 copies, of which this is number 601. First published in 1931, in a small private limited edition. This new edition includes some new photographs, and a new introduction by Colin Laurie McKelvie. Well-written remiscences of rural life and sports in the north-west of Ireland from 1867 to 1930: snipe, woodcock shooting, and angling, mostly for salmon on the River Erne and Lough Melvin. 17 illustrations. Gold-blocked green boards. In an original melamine plastic dustwrapper. Wilkinson was fishing on the Erne when it was still the foremost salmon river in Ireland, before its destruction by the hydro-electric scheme. Apart from a fold to the inner leaf of the dustwrapper the book is in very good condition. 38.00
